Yes, CareerBuddy is completely free. However, it requires a Google Gemini API key to power its AI features. Google offers a generous free tier that is more than sufficient for personal use. You can get a key from the Google AI Studio.

If you don't want to manage an API key yourself, you can use the default key provided within the app, but please be aware that it may have usage limits. And You have to purchase our Pro Subscription for extended usage.

Your privacy is our top priority. All your data—including your profile, assets, and chat history—is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage and IndexedDB. Nothing is ever sent to or stored on our servers, ensuring your information remains 100% private and under your control.

Yes! While your data is stored locally on each device by default, you can use our secure, encrypted Google Drive sync feature. This allows you to create a backup from one device and restore it on another, keeping your profile synchronized. You will need to import your unique "Secret Key" (found in Settings) on the new device to decrypt the backup.

Clearing your browser's "Site Data" or "Cookies and other site data" will permanently delete your CareerBuddy profile from that browser. To prevent data loss, we highly recommend regularly using either the "Export Local Data" or the encrypted "Cloud Sync" feature from the Settings menu.

Not at all! CareerBuddy is designed for everyone. The interface is user-friendly, and you don't need any technical skills. The only semi-technical step is getting a free API key from Google, but we provide a direct link in the app to make it as easy as possible.
